I was born in 100 Mile House and grew up in Prince George. I moved to Calgary after high school and enjoyed my time bouncing around psychology, sociology, community rehabilitation courses, and finally settled on Therapeutic Recreation. I loved that career but my keen interest in skincare was always in the back of my mind.
As a young adult, I spent many an hour mixing my mom’s expensive French skincare with my dad’s sample tubes of prescription creams. I was always looking for the cure for the common freckle.
I decided to start my career in Esthetics to marry my love of helping people and my love of skincare. I wanted a career where I could form lasting, meaningful relationships with people. Esthetics was the perfect fit. I enjoy knowing that all of my clients leave my shop feeling just a little bit better than they did before they walked in.
Sometimes, all it takes is an eyebrow wax for a tired, overworked mother to find her strength and carry on.
My Love of Skincare
I have a passion for skincare. I believe in the skin’s ability to heal and protect and I have enjoyed making a career out of helping people solve their various skin issues. I have successfully treated a wide-range of skin conditions from acne and rosacea to hyperpigmentation and reactive skin. I aim to provide skincare that is both logical and manageable. As a result, my facial treatments are thoughtful, effective, relaxing, and offer sustainable results.
Waxing is another passion of mine. When I was in Esthetics training, I remember pulling off my first wax strip and thinking, “Oh yeah! This is definitely for me!” While a lot of my classmates were looking at their waxing models in abject horror, or worse crying, I was waxing anyone I could get my hands on. Once I graduated, I quickly became known as the Waxing Queen. A reputation I still enjoy today.
Now, eyebrows. Oh eyebrows! I love giving people the eyebrows they should have. I relish the responsibility of transforming one’s brows and I take pride in creating the most beautiful eyebrows for the individual.
I have been honing my skills for over seventeen years now and I opened my own spa in Nanaimo five years ago. During that time my goal has always been the same; to provide treatments that will enhance everyone’s natural beauty.
